Chairman’s Report on the 25th Annual Flower & Garden Show,
August 27, 2005
The 25th Annual Flower & Garden Show went off without a hitch
on Saturday August 27th . Thank you to all the club members who helped. It was
a fun day and it wouldn’t have been possible without everyone who
participated.
And a special thanks and hearty CONGRATULATIONS to all those
who exhibited. While the weather could have been better this summer, our
members came through with some wonderful submissions. The judges commented at
the quality and variety that our show always demonstrates. Thank you!
There were 523 entries this summer, down slightly from last
year. Considering the drought we had, I think we did amazing. The club had 26
members with entries, while 7 non-members and 9 youth also participated (all up
from last year!). With Ben taking a year off, the Sweepstakes prize was up for
grabs. Top point winners were Wanda Wohead (145), Tom Campbell (144) and Nancy
Carroll (80).
